Operation Christmas Child

Actually, the official name is Samaritan’s Purse, project: Operation Christmas Child (OCC). Franklin Graham started OCC in 1993 to connect with children, actually adults too, which shows them God’s love. Since then, more than 232 million children in more than 170 countries and territories have received an Operation Christmas Child, Christmas Shoebox.
Our available records show that First Christian Church has been involved in OCC since 2017 and have given many shoeboxes. Last year, FCC members prepared and sent a total of 103 shoeboxes. Our total church goal this year is to send at least 150 or more. Everyone has always been so supportive and generous. With the Back to School sales still going on, this might be a good time to pick up a few items???
If you have questions about what to put in the boxes, there are 2 example boxes in the back of the sanctuary. You will also find boxes available to take and information including a list of possible items to include.
The shoeboxes will be collected during November, dedicated November 16th, delivered to a local church November 17-21, sent to a processing area where they will be inspected, processed and then sent to children all over the world in the name of Jesus
Remember, this one box may be the first time a child and their parents have received a gift, but more importantly, this may be the first time they have heard about God or seen God’s work in progress and know that other Christians around the world know and think about them
