Do you want a worship service:
...where you don't have to stand up for 30 minutes?
...where you don't have to "turn the volume down?"
...where you're given at least a few moments to pray and meditate?
...where politics are left at the front door and God's word is proclaimed rather than a party platform?
...where all Christians are invited to share in the Lord's Supper (communion) each sunday? If so, you're getting warmer!
First Christian Church of Terrell, TX, believes that the whole point of worship is just that, to worship the Lord, the living God through his Son, our savior, Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. You're invited to join your voice with ours this Sunday at 10:50 am as we worship the living God.

Our aim is to bring Glory to God, by knowing Jesus Christ and making him known to others. In all our activities we try to explain the Bible clearly, so that people can understand and respond to its message. We especially aim to help anyone wanting to investigate the claims of Jesus Christ.

We welcome people at any stage of Christian understanding and hope to serve everyone who comes here. Information about our Sunday service and other programs is listed, but please do
contact us if we can help you further.

Taize' Worship Service

We began our first Taize' worship service on March 1, 2009, at 6:00 p.m.  Taize' is a comtemplative form of worship.  It involves prayer, silent meditation, Communion, responsive readings, and short repetitive songs that become prayers in and of themselves.  This is a great worship style with which to listen to God's voice within and seek guidance for your inner spirit during Lent.  Also, if you miss Sunday morning traditional worship dur to work and other life issues, this will provide an opportunity for you to still worship at FCC.  We hope to see you there and don't forget to invite a friend.

Time:    5:45 – 8:15 daily

Place:   First Christian Church gym

Ages:    4 years – 6th grade

Benefits:   * A light meal each evening.

                       * Loads of fun, singing, crafts

The year’s VBS takes a creative approach to a traditional theme, missions. A “Heart for Missions” helps children learn from biblical examples of missions, helps them identify the needs of their own community, and involves them in a hands-on experience of missions.  Through this program,  children will discover that they can be a part of missions today.  They will gain confidence in their ability to help others in Christ’s name by giving away their craft items.  During this VBS, the church gym will be transformed into a learning hospital in which children assume the role of medical interns and are divided into groups representing different hospitals. They will enjoy interesting areas such as Lab Work (crafts), X-Ray (bible activities), and Ear, Nose, & Throat (music) among others.

A light meal will be provided for the students and workers each evening to make sure everyone maintains a healthy lifestyle.

Registration will occur on the first evening, so early arrivals are encouraged.  This event is open to any child who wants to develop a “Heart for Mission”.

Can We Pray for You?
The group that comes for daily morning prayer (M-F, 7:30 AM ) would like to pray for you. We will be listing a member's name five days a week in the church newsletter calendar, indicating when we will pray for you. We will also be including the names of those on our current Prayer List, found in the bulletin and the newsletter. Please email if you have any names or concerns you would like added to our prayer list. And think about joining us some morning from 7:30 - 7:45 AM in the sanctuary. We're praying for you by name according to how you're listed in the new pictorial directory. Not everyone had their picture made, but don't worry. We'll come to those names, which are listed in the back of the directory, after we go through the names under the photos. We haven't forgotten you!

And should you come into the promised land
Remember, remember
From where you came
And if your greatest fears are realized
Remember, remember
Your sanctuary.
